Polyclads are bad unfortunately. They like to munch on snails and I have seen some reports of them eating Euphyllia. They are very cool and move with lighting speed when they want to.

I hadn't heard of flatworms eating snails before.

Polyclads can get much larger than your average flatworm. Basically they just envelop the entire snail, shell and all. The mechanism of death I am not sure about whether suffocation or a chemical release not sure.

If you take a bowl and put a snail in it and a polyclad (done it) they will go after the snail quickly.

Suggestions for a plan of action? I have a Melanarus wrasse in the DT. Is there anything else that may eat them?

Way too large of a item for most wrasses to eat. When people talk about wrasses eating flatworms they are talking about 1/4" and under, not inches :)

You will need to do manual removal as you find them.

Yeah, manual removal, but try not to tear them. IIRC the fragments can grow into new ones.

Thanks everyone! My plan of action is to start stalking my tank at night! I've been told they don't reproduce very fast so that's good. I now think this may be why my two clams died, in a seemingly healthy tank w/ good test results. They both died within about a week of each other. SO SAD!
