Hi, my first post and I hope I do it ok. My son has a 55 gallon saltwater live rock tank. Last night when the lights were off, we saw a black "wormlike" tentacle come out of the live rock. Thought it was a snail antenna, but those dont retract when spotlighted. It appears to be a scavenger as it was trying to get to a fish that died last night. Never seen it before. He has recently gotten new live rock and we have gotten several hitchhickers. Just not sure what this is. It is long and black (never fully came out so cant be sure of full length) almost moves like an elephant trunk. Attached is a picture.
Thanks you in advance for any help.

Hard to tell for sure, but I would second DF on the peanut worm.

I agree it looks like a harmless peanut worm to me too.
