What is this red stuff?!

    its been growing like crazy and makes my poor colt coral look sad and small lol. ive tried looking it up with no luck, anyone have an idea? 1502035_10201122007349075_372488734_n.jpg

    i was thinking the same thing! wow this stuff is a nice touch to the tank! this is my biggest piece i have about 2 to 3 inches and then i have a couple other quarter sized pieces starting to grow also elsewhere in the tank that are darker in color

    I used to have algae like that, it preferred higher salinity IMO. Never got an accurate ID however. If it were me I'd take it over colt coral any day.

    I found out what it was from a local shop and it's a form of Macro Algea!
