What is this? Some sort of reactor?

    I acquired this thing with a used aquarium and have no clue what it is. The brand is "Sea Storm" and it has two push connect fittings on it, one marked with a blue dot and the other with a red dot.

    I am assuming it is some sort of reactor as it looks some what similar to pictures of reactors I have seen.

    looks like a fluidized bed filter also , Stepho

    not familiar with that brand but it reminds me of models I have seen

    basically a fluidised bed filter was like a reactor but was designed to be filled with sand and that sand was kept tumbling so that more area was expossed for bio filtration

    might be wrong - but thats what it reminds me of

    Ahh ok thats probably it. It looks like sand and there are larger pieces in there that look like pieces of shell.
