What is this stuff ?

    Anyone know what this on my glass is ? It's a rust color and tough to get off the glass. Literally have to scrub it pretty hard to get it off. [​IMG]

    Being that it's difficult to scrub off, my first guess is coralline. I get it in that color on my glass, as well. On the sides and back where I don't remove it, it eventually turns purple.

    If you have a glass tank, I recommend getting a razor blade holder and a blade. Something like this: Mini Safety Scraper with Replaceable Razor Blade

    I just had to scrape a hard white film that looked like calcium buildup from every wall of my new tank and it was pretty satisfying to scrape off.
