What is this type of algae?

    Thank you very much for the advice, I will try that Kent Tech M Magnesium if it is available in Australia.
    I will be moving house in about 2 weeks (3rd time in 3 years, what a pain) so I will scrub all the rocks and get rid of as much of algae as possible.

    I have been running fans in my hood for years and only recently kept them off to see if it made any difference because I was topping up about 2 litres a day.

    Thank you. It does look a bit like some of those images.

    Does anyone have any thoughts on removing the cente support in my cabinet? Would it be for support or more of a storage thing?
    One more question, is it possible that my LEDS can cause my algae problems since it really only became bad after I installed them?

    i'm sorry i didn't know about the ocean water, this may be your problem? i personally would never buy anytype of water from lfs, one can never really know whats in the water, the oceans are becoming poluted more by the day imo you should use ro/di water with a salt mix for awhile just to see if it helps
