    I saw this at a fish store and they are not sure what it is either but it is very pretty and I really like it. Can any one shed any light on what this is???

    Im sure there is a common name like fiery whip coral or something, but it will need appropriate targeted feedings.

    Have you seen polyps on it?

    +1, weird seeing no polyps at all though, its probably not being fed enough or lacking in current or both.

    Try Lophogorgia chilensis and see what you get

    I actually bought it because I thought it was so pretty. after ingtar told me what it was I looked it up and did some research. I have acclimated it and put it in my tank and I am seeing little white spots starting to show up on it. looks like the polyps. also when reading about it, some websites said you wont really see the polyps except at night time?

    it has like these little bulb things on it. like at the tips and there are little feather things coming out of it pulsing....... I like it :)

    Yeah those are the polyps, you can get some food like rods, or coral frenzy and soak it in selcon, then turn off the pumps when you see good polyp extension and spot feed.

    Your research may also indicate that without a constant supply of suspended fine particulate matter it's almost impossible to meet the nutritional needs of non-photosynthetic gorgonians.
