    Since everyone has started saying random assumptions I may as well add mine!

    I think it's a baby octopus that has molded itself to the live rock

    TBH I believe Mr. Bill's guess is right. Looks like a baby ricordia. Mushrooms do not look right for the longest time. Either way it looks like a good hitchhiker, and not a majano

    It's a rock anemone, I've had a few in tanks over the years. they don't get much bigger than yours and don't tend to move around. I never removed them and never had issues

    Hmm. You might be onto something with the rock anemone suggestion.

    I had one similar to this come in on a zoa colony and turned out to be a rock nem. Some can develop kinda cool colors, but ye mine never got more than 3/4" wide and budded off 2 new ones within a month of target feeding (I was curious). Never had major problems, the zoas didn't like touching much so I eventually removed them with a vinegar injection.
