What is this?

I was cleaning out my prefilter and found this in there. It looks like a small shrimp.

I assume it is fine in the tank?

 

I think I answered my own question with a little research. Funny, I haven't seen him in the first 3-4 months of the tank being set up, then IO find him in the filter twice.

Seems like I have made it to the next stage because I am getting things growing all over the place, like feathers, sponges, etc. Looks like the loss of power early on did not kill much in the tank at all.

 

It can take a while for "pods" to show up sometimes but the fact that you've got them means that your tank is doing well
