If you want to kill the thing yank the rock out remembering wher it is on rock.It will retract. Tack a big screw driver and gouge out a good area out where it is.then rinse off rock in a bucket of tank water during water change. Pretty easy if rock is removable. Otherwise It is harder to get rid of.

I didn't think aiptasia looked bad either. I was excited to find it in my tank. The problem with it is that it has poisons stingers and will sting your other inhabitants that probably look better.

I had success with my two peppermint shrimp, but my aiptasias were a lot smaller.

Just an update on an old thread. The aiptasia is gone! Peppermint shrimp really do love it apparently. I bought one and a few days later the tank was Aptaisia free!

    Thanks for the advice guys!

I had 3 aiptasia in my tank and I also had 4 blue legged hermit crabs...1 hitchiker porcelian crab...and 1 pom pom crab....somehow all of the aiptasia are now gone.....
The only other inhabitants are clown fish...not sure what happened or who ...but they are gone...
    Don't cha love it...
