    i have know idea what this stuff is but it has been growing for a while,and it has got big enough to get a picture of, i have a couple of other spots it just started growing in also.i touched with my pipette and it moves so its not hard.not sure if you can tell but it is growing like selfs.oh yeah and it is almost like it is hollow in side.Thanks JOE

    i think its a macro algae, but the picture is blurry

    It is difficult to see clearly but I believe you have Red bubble algae. If the rock can be taken out and examined, siphon out a little tank water (enough to be able to submerge the rock or at least enough to be able to wash and rinse it) take it out and see if the bubble(?) can be burst. If it can, take a new tooth brush (or sterilize one) and scrub all the bubble algae off and rinse thoroughly. Do not burst the bubble in the tank. You will release thousands of spores all through the tank and cause an out break.
