what is this?

    it started out as a small tube on the LR i bought.....and in the past week or so its finally come out from that, and looks like this. it is a pink reddish color, but under actinics, it looks like the disc fluoresces green. its 1/2" tall id say

    there is also a small colony which popped up a couple weeks ago...looks kind of like the larger one, but they are all a little less than 1/4" tall....and they look like they might have more little hair things around the edge of the disc. same color as the other one:

    top one looks like a Zoa or Palythoa to me

    second image looks like I am due for my eye test again LOL

    Top poc is a palythoa and the second one is colonial hydroids which can become a problem at times. They can overrun your rock and they have a powerful sting. Covering them in kalk paste is one way to eliminate.
