It just takes time, just like anything that is associated with this hobby. Macroalgae helps eat up the phosphates that the microalgae would normally consume, but if you have some fat algae growth it will take soem time...think how long it would take a large man to starve to death. Phosphates and nitrates are just part of it, but you can put less into the tank by feeding less and less often, cut down your photoperiod (not a solution but will help) and waiting.

Also, make sure you have good flow and a sufficient clean-up crew.

Sounds like its working like it should to me. A fuge SHOULD look like an algae collection site if you have any algae, better than in the display.

If your tank is less than a year old its fairly normal and should abate with time and proper care. Don't use tap water, make sure your RO/DI water is 0 TDS, try not to overfeed, test for phosphates. (and the other things mentioned above).

But the fuge is where you want the algae to grow if its going to. JMO

I approve this message:hehe:. He's right, the refugium is the only place for algae and marcoalgae. As long as the algae stays in the refugium and not your TD, your fine. Bendito nene! lol Luna
