I completly agree I am always so amazed when I look at mine and other tanks even sometimes by the simplest things wheater it be a hermit changing shells or he a turbosnail cruzing across the glass.. the feeling of accomplisment is probably my favorite thing tho being on my 6th saltwater tank now and having succesfully kept most of my corals and fish from tank to tank and just watching things grow and change and how everything is so different.. I'M SOO HOOKED! Lol

All my life I had goldfish and guppies. One year i went to Canada with my mother to visit her best friend. Her best friends husband had a 100 gallon fish tank with an assortment of angel fish. He took me to a large fish store in Toronto and i remember watching the clownfish playing in the anemone.
Years later i went to a local fish store and saw that owning a reef wouldn't be as expensive as i thought it would have been. I researched prices and bought a couple of books on saltwater care. My tank started with one clownfish and some live rock. I started purchasing some coral to make the tank look nice. I found i like watching the corals grow as much as i like watching my clownfish. I've liked projects my whole life, and a saltwater tank has needs much attention and care. I think its nice looking back at what you had made and thinking about what it took to get there.

I've always lived on the beach, Texas coast to be exact, and couldn't imagine living inland away from the water. So I've always loved the ocean and everything that comes with it from surfing, to fishing, and just enjoying the sunset everynight. About 8 years ago (I was 12), my grandparents bought a house in Belize on ambergis caye. They're pretty wealthy to say the least and flew our family down to stay for a week. Our first day there my grandpa gave me a mask, snorkel, and flippers and we swam out right off the beach behind his house. I couldn't believe it, it was a world I'd never seen before. Beautiful corals, brightly colored fish, and sea life EVERYWHERE. That whole week all I did was snorkel. Ever since then I've been fascinated with tropical reefs and the sea life with it.. So 8 years later and a little money saving I'm starting my own little world in my room.. But without a doubt, my favorite part is waking up every morning and pressing my face against the glass, mesmerized by these creatures. Just as I had been at my grandpas house years ago..

My favorite thing is designing and setting up systems. Don't get me wrong, I love when my tanks finally get established, but there is something about figuring out the whole system set up that I really like.
