What Kind of Clean Up Crew do i need to get?

Are there two schools of though regarding CUC? It seems that some people put CUC that are not totally compatible (from what I've read) and let Darwinism do its thing. Or they keep only snails or only hermit crabs?

 

Many hermit crabs will kill snails for their shells, or thats what people say... If you have extra shells laying around that limits the issue... And in my eyes a healthy strong snail will NOT get pulled out of its shell by a hermit, unless the hermit is large like the many non reef safe ones out there...

 

My hermits are a band of gangsters. They shell-jack snails all the time. They particularly like ceriths.

 

i used to have hermits and snails, never again with the hermits not only did i catch them jackin snails shells but i caught them tearing up corals, snails are my choice now everytime, they can also clean the glass for me which is a nice added bonus in general i use the strom shell <for gravel cleaning> and trochus snails for the rest of the tank
