what kind of coral is this

    hey what kind of coral is this? its at my local fish store and how much should i pay for it?

    It appears to be a small mini-colony of montipora digitata. How many branches does it have?

    It looks like a Pocillopora damicornis.

    looks like a stylophora to me, AKA cats paw. Research this coral first, and the pic looks like some bare spots.

    I would say around $20

    EDIT* maybe not...branches look fairly separated...my eyes are shot tonight

    cool thx guys. would it make a good first coral? i havent done any corals in my tank yet. my lighting setup right now is outer orbit with 2x 150w 10,000k hqi powerpaq 2x 54w t5ho 420nm and 2x 54w t5ho 460nm and TrueLumen Pro LED Striplight 48in. 12K/453nm Marine Fusion. my t5s needs a new ballast
