im trying to decide on a pump for my fuge. its a 5 gal fuge. i havent decided on a return line to the tank help with that would be apreciated as well. my rough estimates are 3-4 feet of tubing between tanks and only about a foot higher. and i could use something cheap if its possible.

That depends on what your planning on growing in your fuge. Most macros like pretty slow flow. Chaeto like faster flow. I would go with chaeto and get about a 100 gph pump that you can tune with a ball valve.

split your drain from the main tank to run the sump and fuge together

The return pump u get depends on what kind of overflow u have and how much it can do. Worse case u get a pump that does double of what the overflow does, u can always tune it down with a ball valve....the return line is usally 3/4" on most setups i seen. Petco has a water pump that does about 250 GPH and cost around $19.99 and which is 3/4"
