I went to a new lfs yesterday, and they were throwing some macro algae in the tanks that the tangs were loving, I forgot to ask what it was

Possilby "Ulva" or Sea Lettuce - tangs seem to like it.

There are a number of macroaglae species tangs like - tho not sure of them by name offhand.

My yellow tang absolutely destroyed my red gracalia but I'm sure they like lots of kinds. What did the one at the LFS look like?

Ogo (Gracilaria pacifica or parvisipora) is a great food for herbivores. It's high in HUFAs and Iodine as well as other vitamins. Whenever, I bring in an expensive tang, I also bring in Ogo to make sure it starts eating immediately and then I convert them over to prepared foods.
