I got this Nem for $20 and a little trade from a local reefer here in Boise. He was told from the person that he got his clone from that it was a Rose Bubble Tip Anemone, but I have my doubts.

I am trying to get my misbar oscellaris clowns to host in it, but no luck yet. They appear interested, but have yet to take the plunge.

If anyone could help me by letting me know what kind it is that would be great.

A little info on the nem, I received the nem from a fellow reefer, it is a clone from the reefers tank. Since I have had it (about 2 months), it has gone from about tennis ball size to now the size of a melon! I feed it small pieces of krill and shrimp every other day, and only what it can readily eat, I know not to overfeed. It appears to be about to split again and has yet to move from where it went in at. This is my second nem (my roommate killed my extremely small green bubble tip nem when I went on vacation) and I am quite proud that it is showing growth and appears to be happy! 8)

Looks more like a Long Tip A to me.

Can you get a pic of it's foot?

Working on it now, but it is really set into the rock that it lives on. I will try.

Here is a shot from underneath, looking at the foot. And the second is the part of the nem that comes over the rock. It is cream in color. Let me know if you need another shot of it, I can try to move that cup that is in the way.

Okay, what can I expect from a LTA? Does it roam a lot? What kind of flow does it prefer? Will Oscellaris Clowns host in it?

What gave away that it is a LTA?

Any info on the nem is much appreciated since it is growing like a weed and I am very proud of this. Hopefully if I can keep it alive then I could work my way up to a clam of some sort.

The striping on the foot mostly. The LTAs have a more distinct brown on cream.

Just about all clowns host them. My Tomato took to it within 10 minutes.

Caring for Rose Anemones the right way - INTRODUCTION

This is just about the best Rose Anemone site I have ever found. Great reading. Most everything applies to all species of Anemone.

I have read that site multiple times, very informative. Are LTA more hardy in reef systems than other nems? Was this a good buy for $20?

For one that size, Ya, that is a good buy. I paid more for smaller.

Pretty hardy. Pretty much on par with the BTAs. Definitely not as delicate as Ritteri or Sebae.
