what kind of snail

    found him roaming around and wasn't sure if hes good or bad.
    i do have a nerite snail in my tank possibly an offspring?
    anyways thanks

    Wow, lots of these showing up lately. It's a Collonista species or a close relative in the subfamily Colloniinae. It's being called Collonista amakusaensis, although there are probably several different species being lumped under that name. It's an algal grazer, and most everyone considers them beneficial.

    Yeah Collonista sightings are rampant now:)

    These are beneficial, some people fear they are pyramellid snails at first.
