Man thats a tough one, it resembles many but none at least IME definitively.

What was it called when you bought it?

I can't find any pic online or in my books to say 100%

Definitely NOT a half moon. I can't say for sure. But what I can say for sure, is by that mouth structure, it's not going to be one of the more reef-friendly triggers. Judging by your tank in the background, I'd seriously be pondering on getting it out ;)

My sentiments exactly. When I saw the tank my first thought was; "what in the world is a trigger doing in that tank?"

Agreed with all of these guys. There's a reason that triggers have beaks...

What harm can he do, peck at rocks? Many have heard triggers eat corals but no one had actually seen them do it! I am not worried about inverts, I can always buy more.

That's because triggers do not eat all corals, but some are on the menu, particularly SPS. The beaked ones are predators that will not do well. You might not mind your CUC much, but when he gets bigger or hungry I am sure you feel differently when your wrasse, clown, damsels, or SPS start to take a beating.
There is a huge difference between what you have, and what people normally try trigger wise in reefs (Xanthichthys group).
