I got a new wrasse the other day and cannot decide what kind it is. When we looked at him at the LFS he changed colors so many times (from stress?) that we could not figure it out even with a book.
The pics below are his normal colors. I think it is a Lubocks wrasse but does not have the same colors as the ones I see on line.
    any ideas?????

yeah, i'd say any wrasse for $20 is a good deal. i think those normally go for $30-40 at the LFS

There's a few different things going on in here:

What you're showing there is actually Cirrhilabrus aurantidorsalis, commonly called an orange-sided fairy wrasse.

    However:

What you've got is a female "something", which makes it a bit harder to ID with any certainty. However, I believe what you've got here is a female Cirrhilabrus solorensis.

It is most certainly NOT a lubbocki.

Does it have a more common name?

    Which one would you like?:

Clown Fairy Wrasse, Clown Head Fairy Wrasse, Red Head Solon Fairy Wrasse, Solon Fairy Wrasse, Tricolor Fairy Wrasse, Red-eyed Fairy Wrasse, Indo-Labrid Red Head Fairy Wrasse, Solar Fairy Wrasse

Latin names are more useful, IMO.
