I have a 55 gal. tank with the critters down below and I'm wondering what kinds of corals I should add. I'm also planning to add a Derasa Clam, Scarlet Skunk Cleaner Shrimp, and a Chalk Basslet.

Yellow Tang, Double-Barred Rabbit, Royal Gramma, Long-Finned Fairy Wrasse, (2 Blue-Green Chromis, (2) Pajama Cardinals, Engineer Goby, Sand-Sifter Star, Red Leg Cortez Crabs, and a Ruby Red Mithrax Crab

not familiar with those lights but they may be a little weak to keep more delicate corals. try looking into soft corals first.

    some kenya trees for example

I started with mushrooms as my first coral. They do have the possibility of covering all of the rock in your tank though. I would start with a mushroom placed on a fist sized rock island. It will spread and cover the island. Good starter coral IMO. Mushrooms are very forgiving and do not require much light.

P.S. you are going to have trouble keeping that sand sifting star long term. A 55 gallon tank will not have enough fauna to support the starfish.

+1. On the sand sifter. You also have a lot of fish for a 55g also. But anyways I started with green star polyps and mushrooms in my 55 gallon. I now have gsp hairy mushroom, sun coral and daisy coral. All doing very well. What sort of filtration do you have? Hob filter? Sump? I'm guessing your lights are t5? How many bulbs?
