what lighting system? retro?

    first of all heres the specs for the tank...
    36" long
    18" deep -1.5-2" of sandbed
    going to keep zoa's, lps, and maybe some monti's and acros

    now heres the question. what light would. A) work for the corals. B) be cheap. and C) reliable

    I was thinking on getting an aquatraders 36" 4 bulb t5 and just replace the bulbs but would that be enough light for sps corals?

    Probably not with the reflector design. You want individual reflectors or reflectors that are molded so the dividing bend is past the bulb.

    ok then what would be a good lighting system that you would recomend?

    Current Nova Extreme would be an entry level light, make sure you get the 4 bulb and replace the bulbs with any you can get from reefgeek.com.

    Next up would be a regular Tek, then the Tek Elite, ATI SunPower and then top ATI Powermodule.
