You won't need any more than a good 4 bulb T5HO that is at least 36" long. Go with 48" by preference. If you buy an ATI or Tek Elite it will allow you to keep an SPS dominant tank. Buy 2 blue bulbs, 1 pink bulb and 1 white bulb this gives great color and good growth.

Thanks, if I want a fixture that can do day and night cycle, will it say it on the product? or do most of the more expensive ones just do it?

I bought it from my LFS and yes you can set the times to whatever you wish. I have a moon led cycle, atinic (to simulate sun rising and there also on through the day and then after my daylights go out to simulate the sun setting) also my day light setting. Atintic's 0600-2000, 15K daylight 0800-1800, moon led's 2000-0100 then darkness from 0100-0600. but you can change it that is just mine.

Check this guy out. I've purchased 4 fixtures from him and had great success on all. If you're not looking to spend $500-1,200 on a name brand fixture, this is the way to go. Besides, I have trouble reasoning with spending 2-3 times the price for (the theory of) slightly more light (increased PAR) from an improved reflector. They are Odyssea fixtures and easy to manage and modify. The bulbs aren't great but for the price, you can't beat it! The Phoenix 14k's are excellent with these ballast! He also sells T5 fixtures.

I was planning on purchasing the 60" or 72" 3 x 250W Halide fixture from him when ready, but now that I've seen these, I may be sold! Halide fixture, balast and bulb, t5 actinics and even LED's for night! Unbeatable prices!!

I'm not interested in a fixture with integrated digital timers, a controller handles all of it. Save the cash on an expensive fixture, replace the stock bulbs and spend the remaining on a must have controller. Review the video below to see why.
