what looks like ich

a few of my fish have what looks to be on there fins... they act completly fine and eat and everything. i have treated a few times ... but their fins do not clear up?

any help?

 

looks like suger/salt.

 

It usually starts on their fins, but how have you treated it before? sometimes when people treat it, they dont see it on their fish and they stop treating it..I would probably put the fish in a QT and start treatment and dont stop treatment for a few months i think it is.

 

just with kick ich.

 

Sounds like Marine Ich.

I just noticed you have a thread regarding elevated nitrate levels. The stress of the elevated nitrates levels will cause the fish to succumb to Mairine Ich.

And Kick ich does not work effectively to treat marine ich unfortunately.

I think once you get the nitrate levels in check your fish will probably be better able to handle the ich.
