First of all a big thanyou to all of you who responded. This site and its community are to be commended on your efforts to help me and my fish. We all know the feeling of having a sick fish, particulalry when it happens to be one of you favourite and you have no idea whats wrong with it. I now feel like i owe this site something so i guess i will hang around and try to learn/teach other members.

Oh as for the Tang i think i have found a solution to the problem. Im going to monitor it and see if its condition deteriorates in any way. (I now know the appropriate symptoms to look out for.) If this happens its straight into quarintine with medication. Luckily there are medications for this sought of problem. I will keep everyone informed on anything that happens if its worth posting in case someone else experiences this problem.

Once again a big thankyou goes out to the 3reef community.

    Ugh! LOL!

I don't think it's a tapeworm. Tapeworms are segmented. The smooth texture of this worm indicates something from the roundworm family. Perhaps a type of hookworm.
Anyway, it's a parasite. Your fish may have more in him, so keep an eye on him. But an infestation is not always fatal.
