OK, so I got some chaetomorpha and Caulerpa prolifera. I wanted to some other critters in the fuge. What can I put in there that won't disturb anything. Another thing I have going on I believe is the cyanobacterial bloom in my main tank. How long does that typically last? And should I be doing anything besides water chages to help get rid of it?

Chemi-Clean kills cyano. I don't think just water changes will do it.

How old is your tank, if new thats just normal cycling, but I would make sure your nitrates are next to zero and that your phosphate is zero. Also how long are you leaving your lights on?

The tank is about 6 months old. The Lights in my main tank are on for about 6-7 hours. The lights on the fuge are on 24/7. Nitrates and phosphates are zero.

Anytime under a year cyno is more likely to break out. The tank is still cycling.

IMO, Chemi-clean and productls like it are just a band-aid and don't cure the problem. High water flow, low nutrients (Make sure you are not overfeeding), high CA, low phosphates are what you need in the long run. If you do elect to use Chemi-clean or red out etc, be careful. Speaking from experience, it can have an adverse effect.
