I was looking at the above unit, I was wondering what pumps I could use, also what are the name of the Hydor Koralia pumps that are meant for the controllers?

Been reading a few reviews (Hydor Koralia Evolution Pumps), saw some like this, any other experiences?
"This are not controlable. After a couple of moth use. thay start in the wrong direction 4 out of 5 times. No Answer from the Hydor website. A disaster for my Aquarium and a lost of money."

As far as I know, all of the Koralias are ok to use with an on/off style "wavemaker" like the one you posted.

Just letting you know, though, that that is an on/off "wavemaker"; it doesn't ramp up and down the pump speed like the Vortech or Tunze stuff.

I know but I figured If I went with some K 1400 or something, 2 of them mb 2 smaller or 2 larger ones with 4 total id have them all running at different times, it would almost be like having them run at different speeds, plus it saves me about 250 bucks to use towards something else.

It is not "OK" to run most pumps on a on/off wave maker. To start any motor requires an initial large amount of current. Constantly starting and stopping a motor will cause more heat and take life out of the motor. Not to mention the fact that most pumps have an annoying clicking sound as they start. Constantly starting and stopping clicking form multiple pumps never seemed attractive to me.

You want Koralia Evolutions or Sicce Voyagers. Both are designed for on-off controller usage.
