    ;D

I messed up. I normally include links when I post a picture. This is from RHF's Reef Aquarium Salinity article. Reef Aquarium Salinity: Homemade Calibration Standards by Randy Holmes-Farley - Reefkeeping.com It's a good read.

I'm sure you had a hand in the article as usual.

BTW, since we're on the subject we might as well discuss proper hydrometer care. If you are using a temperature adjusting plastic swing-arm hydrometer, after every use it should be rinsed well (preferably in RO/DI water). Then it should be stored in a zip-lock bag. Allowing saltwater to dry on the swing-arm can result in a false reading. If you've done this, soak your hydrometer in white vinegar for a while and rinse well with RO/DI water.

LOL....don't thank me. I'm just parroting things that Boomer has taught me over the years.

I doubt you know this but it doesn't matter. I'm trying to embarass Boomer. ;D He's been helping in this hobby for a looooonnnnggg time. He helped Craig Bingham with his articles years ago and now he's helping Randy Holmes-Farley.

I'm going to be needing his knowledge very much in the coming months.

And as for you, Inwall, it doesn't matter where you get your info from.. Every time I see a reply to a post from you, the information you give is complete, detailed, and backed up. Even the people who have a wealth of information to give, aren't able to put that information out as well as you have been able to. So again, I thank you. You are a credit to 3reef.

It's been 1.023 for a year, but I boosted it to 1.024-1.025 this week so I could add an anemone.

1.026 - 1.027. I'm using natural sea water courtesy of Scripp's here in San Diego. It's taken 900 ft offshore and about 22 feet down at the end of Scripp's Pier. Pumped onshore and filtered with sand/gravel and stored in big tanks for their aquariums and research work. Free to the public via a pressurized hose by the pier. Great asset for us here in SD, and much appreciated in the reef community!
