brightwells hands down. I have used a lot of salt and I strongly feel that brightwells mix is superior to all others

I have started out with Reef crystals, then tried Oceanic and Seachem mostly because we did a group by and it was cheap. Didn't really have any issues with any of them, found them all to be "close" to what they said on the bucket as far as their Alkalinity, calcium several other items that I just happen to have tests for. My tank did really well also, things grew and looked really good.

Then a few months ago I had the chance to get a couple of buckets of Brightwell salt..... and with out really getting into a bashing session here all I will say is I will never use or recommend the use of Brightwell salt ever again. My tank went from a thriving community of beautiful creatures to tank full of Dead and Dying coral.

I have videos of what this salt looked like after several days in a bare tank which I will post later when I get home from work. Some component of that salt never dissolved in the water which is why my tank was always cloudier than normal.

I really do not know what was wrong with those buckets of salt, but I can tell you this, since I went back to the reef crystals things are looking up again. Some of the dying corals have stopped and are actually looking like they might make it. So for me its Reef crystals, even though I know that there are times when I might have to add a little calcium or raise the alkalinity a little, at least I know it won't kill my corals.....
