I will be setting up a new tank soon and am thinking of putting the red corals I have in it. Since it's so delicate occasionally pieces break off and would get mixed in with the sand so I'm thinking white might not be best. Also I am planning on having burrowing inhabitants so that's a factor too.

I think black sand would look the best with red corals.

If you have really bright colors, I'd go with black sand. It makes very bright colors seem even brighter.

With more subdued colors, I'd go with white sand.
