I have been trying to figure out what to get next. I have a LOT of live rock curing in vats. Should I get a new skimmer? A some lighting? What do you guys think?

Coraline algae grows with very small amounts of lighting, so you can go with better water quality to start the maturity process with your tank, and later bring in the lights.

My skimmer with the mj1200 or the 400gph pump does not pull out very much skimate. BUt I have been feeling a new skimmer. Now if I just had the money for a EV-180. So probably a diy or a coral life.

Are you sure it's adjusted properly? Mine pulls everything out even my additives that I put in. If it is set up properly and you're not getting anything that's awesome. On average I get about three ounces of gunk out of mine per week.
