What Size Tank and GPH Do You Have?

5-10x is what a lot of people just put through the sump.

Mine is 30g right now.
Vortech MP40 (dialed down) peaks at maybe 1500gph?
Koralia 1 - 400gph
return pump 300gph
2200gph

about 73x at the peak of the vortech's reef crest mode (yikes didn't realize it was that much)

 

system turnover and tank turnover are different, the corals housed regulate tank turnover x/hr

current sps system 75g
system turnover 10x/hr
tank turnover 75x/hr

new sps system 300g
system turnover 10x/hr
tank turnover 100x/hr

 

so how does one determine the proper turn over rate?
