I would look on craiglist you should be able to get something pretty big for under $1000. The bigger the better IMO.

Is that your budget for the entire build or is that just for the tank and stand? Are you looking to buy new or an existing setup? Might be better able to answer your question based on how you answer.

I would buy a tank within the 125-250 gallon range if I had that budget! Along with materials for a fuge, sump, etc.

depends on if your going with a reef tank or fish. imo the larger the easyer the upkeep. but do not get overwelmed. start simple and learn as you go. it worked for me. do as much research as possable then dive in . knowlage is the key!!!

Get a 40 gallon breeder. Lots of room and looks great. It is 36x18x16

If your looking to get a 36 bowfront, Id recomend just getting a 40 breeder. I had a 36 bowfront and then got a 40 gallon and I like it alot more. even though its only 4 extra gallons, it seems alot bigger plus its 6 inches longer. The bow front is 30 inches by 21 inches tall i believe so you will have to stack your live rock taller where as the 40 breeder is 18 inches wide and not as tall so you wont have to stack rock as tall. plus the distortion from bowed glass gives you a head ache if you stare at it to much
