This truly is a lot of great info. :)

Im just takin what you guys are all saying. Weighing it all out while I check out all the online stores.

I recently made a blind dive into the Apex. Whats stopping me from taking another blind dive into the Octupus Xp-2000?

Even though it truly isnt a "blind" dive but there are some unknowns how these products will truly perform.

Picking the right skimmer is so hard. There are so many different types and the is good hype and bad hype on all of them. It seems everyone either loves there skimmer or hates it. I currently have a Octo NW and I cant stand it, but again I went with a basic NW and have heard better things about the extreme and the new 2000. I heard alot of great hype about the octo I got and was so excited to get it. Then I got it and have been truly disapointed. Thats why I just ordered the EV-180 off ebay for my new tank. But again I have heard most people love it but some still hate it. There is never 100% satisfaction when it comes to aquarium products. So with this all said I wish you good luck in your search. But in my opinion I would wate for a little while on the 2000. But thats just me. I like a product to be out for a bit so you can get some true feedback, with out taking a shot in the dark.

    I have a used EV 180 I would have sold you-still have it-LOL.

Yes Trekker skimmers are SO tough, I think alot of my disappointment MAY have been from not really spending time "dialing" them in. I mean I followed the directions to "T" but some of my results I have had have been 180 degrees from others. I read all the reviews basiclly 8 out of 10 rave, and 2 say it sucks-and it seems so many are like that-there has to be a user interface that is responsible:confused:-I suppose how mature a tank is, what the bio load is, as well as other factors need to be considered as well-Hense the never ending search

A perfect example is the AquaC EV I have but no longer use, Luna has the exact same one and LOVES his, I blame mine on the deaths I had when trying the Vodka Dosing for not skimming well enough.

Anyway I have found one I am very happy with, it pulls gunk better than any of the FOUR I have tried and I am done. I can tell you one thing, if I look I know I can find a better one, and look again I will find a better one and so on and so on, its a perpetual never ending search-LOL

Good luck the Octo you showed looks good-But they look nice-:LolLolLol

Well reefn I wish u would of said something sooner. lol But I must say I am allready loving the ev 180. I recieved/installed it yesterday and it has allready pulled more gunk than my octo has in the last 2 weeks. It is so much easier to fine tune and dial in. The gate valve and adjustable intake make it so you cane fine tune the exact consistancy of skim u want. Plus when I get my Ca Reactor I can run it right threw the skimmer.

Tatted- maybe you should buy reefn's ev-180 if the deal is right. lol But good luck and let us know what u decide.

But cautious... no reviews to be found on the XP-2000. Not sure if I wanna take a risk
