What skimmer is appropriate?

    you should be okay.The bigger the better when it comes to filter.

    Now if I were to use the 50 gallon filter it has a prett big empty space. How should I organize the jnside to have both a small fuge and also the required filter media. What should be the filter media? Carbon? Soonges? I have no idea.

    Get the AquaClear 70 filter if it will fit on the back of your tank. The bigger, the better! I know it has already been stated, but weekly water changes are going to help you maintain this tank in the long run. Cant wait to see it!

    If you are going to do the fuge here is what you will need to do. Apologies for the link to another forum, its the best I could find. With the fuge mod, i dont think you will really be able to run the media it comes with. YOu could always do a different HOB filter for carbon.
