In a recirculating skimmer there is more reaction time in the skimmer to clean the water, i have never owned one cause they need to be fed water. I would go with the asm or the octo nwb 150, forget the other 2. May wanna look into the vertex skimmers too, someone had a review on here on one they bought and its a performer.

I dont have any experience with any other skimmers but agree with the other posters about ASM G2. I got mine for 270.00 but it pulls out a bunch of crap every couple of days. Amazing, and it is also easy to configure (pull pipe up and down for desired skimmate texture) Once it is set you just empty the cup.

Not sure about the skimmers you posted. A while back I posted the same question on this forum for the same sized tank. Based on many recommendations, I chose the octopus xtreme 160 skimmer. It has been great so far, and is very simple to set up. When considering the costs, take into account that some of these skimmers come with a pump (the octopus does) while some do not. That can factor significantly into the cost of the set-up. Just my 2cents

all the skimmers i have listed come with a pump, with the exception of the recirculating octopus that requires feed pump.

I have found an older version, only been used for 3 months, octopus nwb 150 for $125. Should i go for this or go for a brand new, new model w. modifications for $189.00...

Do we get any discounts at Aquacave?

I have both an octopus and ASM skimmers. They are both great. But given those choices, I would go with the ASM. The octopus skimmers are awesome, but are going to be a little more pricey. Both of the choices given for Octopus would be better suited to a smaller tank, while that ASM would be a beast in your 90.
