THe Euroreefs are nice as well. A little pricey now that they raised there prices but nice skimmers none the less. I actually prefer the Aqua C EV Series though for an in sump skimmer.

Well I guess then you havent thought it completely through because a ER skimmer may be a little more upfront but to buy an AquaC then buy the pump (which pulls more amps, costing a little more on the electric bill) plus considering the efficiency of the ER's.

MacnReef - One problem with your suggestion is the fact that he is looking for a hang on skimmer not an insump.

And to say Darin hasn't thought it thruis I am sure more than a little incorrect. I would say he has plently of experience and that is his opinion based on that. And I agree with the recent price increase and the demise of most of the ES series they are not exactly "cheap" anymore for sure.

I have thought it out as I sell both models and will say that the Aqua C EV120 with a mag 5 is about $20 less than the euroreef CS6-1 and you get the option to run it insump or external. The Euroreef can only be run insump. The Sedra 3500 and mag 5 use about the same power every month unless you want to count down to pennies.

The skim pretty close to the same so the AquaC with the built in drain fitting, superior customer service and flexibility give it the win in my book.

I like them both but the Aqua C's win by comparison in my opinion all the time. Just my opinion though! ;D

I also agree, AquaC has some of the best customer service in the industry hands down.

    WRONG!

I don't recall him saying anything about an in-sump model. Okay, they may have gotten rid of the ES but now they have the RS...so what are you talking about. Compare an AquaC to the RS and you will see the price difference.

Plus it is proven that the needle wheel injection is the best form of air/water mixute on the market.

Since I couldn't link my picture, just go to my gallery and you will see what a ER can do.

Do you just sell the equipment or something? I mean really! Do you even have a reef and have tried both or are you basing this strictly off of cost and customer service?

Number one I never said which end of the customer service spectrum I was referring to be it manufacturer - dealer or manufacturer - customer.

Number 2 I personally own a Euro-Reef and love it but in no way is it the only skimmer on the market that works great ... AquaC, Precision Marine, ETSS all work very very well as well.

Number 3 RS skimmer are not going to be the same price as the ES skimmers will at all. They do replace them but they is a price increase across the board

Not that much of a price increase over the ES models.
