I am getting ready to order my equipment for my new 75 gallon FOWLR. I know I will need an alkalinity test as well as a refractometer, but what other test kits will I need? I was thinking of using the Red Sea line of kits. Are those OK or is there a better brand? Is there any difference in refractometers from one company to the next? They all seem to look the same to me.

Nitrate and Nitrite and Ammonia during the cycle. Get some calibrating fluid with the refractometer. Make sure the refractometer is for salt water use. A pH kit is also good to get. The RedSea kits should be fine.
