My sailfin refuses to leave alone a new HUGE open brain coral I got yesterday...the tang is attacking it and biting it...and the juvy orange shoulder is playing "monkey see monkey do".....i had to remove the brain and stick it in my sump!...why would they all of a sudden decide they like to eat brains? :( They get fed Nori every day, and then on alternating days they get brine shrimp, squid combo one day and flakes and pellets the next....its aggrivating...i didnt get this coral to sit it in my sump!

tangs aren't always reef safe... also from what I have heard if they see one doing it there a good chance the others will join in.

My purple tang did that to my open brain when it's health declined, I currently have plenty of open brains and he doesnt touch a thing. Not sure if the coral health might have had something to do with it?

That was my thought because he stayed deflated all of yesterday...so my plan is to put him in my sump until i see him inflated and healthy...then moving him to the DT quickly because acclimation wont be needed... good plan?

good plan, give it a dip in iodine or ReVive to help it recover.
