    I just saw this thing in my tank, what is it? should i be worried? should i take it out and dispose of it? sorry i couldnt get any better picture of it. is it a starfish?

    so, is this okay to keep in my 10 gallon tank? are these considered pests? i have mushroom corals and a toadstool leather. i also have 2 clownfish and a damsel

    They are not pests, but they may out grow your tank years down the line.

    still debating on whether to keep it in the tank or take it back to petco tomorrow...

    I have a much larger one in a 29g reef and I have nothing but good to say about them. They are almost comical when they stick their arms out of different cracks in rocks and are very reliable when it comes to eating the uneaten food and waste my tanks produces. If you are uncomfortable with keeping him in the tank however, I can understand the hesitation on whether to keep him or take him back.

    he looks really cool, but it seems that he's going to grow to be really big. If I had a bigger tank, I think I would have kept him. I really hope there aren't others in my tank :-/

    Looks like a mini brittle star,they are good to have as part of your clean up crew.
