I notice today that my frag tank has alot of very small white creatures all over the glass. My first thought was baby snails, then I noticed that they seem to move more like insects. THey run short distances very quickly then stop. I would get a picture of them but I would need a microscope. Any ideas on what they are?

Kind of looks like the little ones in the picture but they are white. Do those scurry around the glass?

I would say either pods or spirorbid worms. In either case they are a sign of a healthy tank.

Spirorbid worms look like this and have a hard shell.

*Edit* oops, just saw that they move. NOT spirorbids then.

Did you click on the picture? The smaller ones are copepods. And yes they scurry around the glass.
