what the hell is this?

K+ Just looked this up apparently the female causes the coral to form a case around her and she incubates her eggs while the male roams around, the female is easily spotted as the outside of the case in the coral doesn't have any polyps.

 

I can say that my elegance looks a little happier since we removed it. It left a nice sized hole where it was.

 

That was a good ID. Is there an ID thread this one can go on? One with pics? Seems there was talk of one earlier.......

 

There should be one. apparenty this little critter is attributed to a disease found in elegance corals. The disease makes their mouths bulge out. Have not found out if there is a cure as of yet or if its fatal. This coral does look alot better. (cant say that about the gall crab however. (;D))
