So a couple of times now I've thought there were fewer blue legged hermit crabs than I originally bought. And more than once I spotted something that looked an lot like crab legs floated by on the bottom of the tank. No worries, crabs will be crabs.

But today, all day, one of my blue/green chromis has been awol. So now I'm a little peeved, and wondering wtf? Could it be one of the other fish?

some of those crab legs could be from them molting, shedding their skin to grow. mine i usually dont see til later at night, and when lights are out

These are for sure bits of crab, not molting. I've seen a couple of them start fights, so that could be part of the problem. But where the heck is my blue/green chromis?

I've had one crab get eaten by another. I have a renegade blue leg that HAS to be 8X the size from when I got him......:shifty:

I do find legs all the time from molting though.

Ok, remove "crab" from the post. I'm worried about my blue/green chromis that has now been missing for over a day.

If you have a group of chromis it's pretty common for them to kill off the weakest in the group. Sometimes the group will stabilize at 3 or 5, some people for some reason always end up with 1.
