    Got to love the noobs!!! I was flashlighting around my tank just a few minutes ago, its night time for them and I came across this little guy. What is he?

    Amphipod. They're great for the tank and are harmless.

    I am absolutely so dumbfounded at how many things are already in my tank and all I've added are hermits and snails!!!

    I would assume that they are of the night folk and are related to copepods?

    Amphipods are larger than copepods, but yeah, they are almost the same. I'm guessing that you used live rock. All sorts of goodies come from it!

    Why when search Amphipod it comes up with "sand flee?"

    As for live rock yes I did use some live rock. Not a ton but enough that I would get the benefits out of it.

    Sand fleas are larger amphipods, i believe.

    amphipod.

    harmless for the most part

    however I have seen videos of them Eating zoanthids at night! :eek:
