I have a 30 gallon Oceanic tank that I just started, I've done some pretty good research and came to a few questions....I was looking on a site called Marco Rocks and saw the Bahama Aragonite sand that they are advertising, it looks great and I believe this is a good deal. Has anyone ever dealt with them or currently use their product? Also, is the jury out on live or dead sand? Some people say that "dead" sand will become live with a cup of live, or that it will be live over time and that live sand is actually dead anyway due to "packaging and shelving". I am going to do a FOWLR tank and can't decide what substrate to use, aragonite or a DSB. I'll probably just get the bahama sand and do a DSB, any advice or help would be great....

Never used it but I wouldn't pay extra for the "live" part. Like you said it will become live during the cycle anyway.

So just stick with the product that they are offering? Also, is a DSB advisable with a FOWLR tank? And if so how deep should it be?
