my LFS sells chromis for $3...that would leave you plenty to get a couple nice frags, depending on what chromis cost by you. If I were you i would get chromis and coral :D

If your signature is up to date and correct I wouldn't add any more fish personally. Go for coral!

i like the idea of a busy tank. just not overcrowded instead of these could i do a red scooter dragonette? i just want 2 or three more fish in there. my mangroves are rooting out if that helps at all.

i have a total of 12 inch of fish right now in my aquarium. would 3 chromis that are 3 inches be bad. i could keep them in the ten gallon and add them one by one over a few weeks if that would help.

i wouldnt add the scooter till you have a pod farm up and running, and your tank is fully seeded with pods. i made the mistake of getting a pair of scooters, and theyre suffering now :( waiting on my pod farm to start producing so they can eat

You can add a lot of movement with coral and inverts besides fish, keep that in mind. Adding 3 chromis will almost double your bioload overall, it will really make it more difficult to keep your parameters good. Plus if your clowns ever start spawning they may not take kindly to other fish being in their territory so you could run into problems there as well.

I don't think a dragonet is a good idea even with a pod farm, JMO though. I think I'm obviously one of the more conservative fish-keepers around here hehe.

I don't think it would crash your tank but, if you don't end up with aggression eventually, you will probably just find that your nitrate/phosphate levels will rise much more quickly than without that added bioload, especially as your fish reach their full size and require more food.
There are obviously ways to deal with nutrient export but it's potentially more work and potentially more expensive to control those nutrients, especially with coral which can be especially sensitive to those nutrients.
You also may need to be a little concerned with oxygen levels in the tank, make sure you have good surface turbulence and a skimmer will help.

I think those are the big three at least for those types of fish, aggression/territoriality, nutrient levels, and oxygen levels.

My 2c anyway, just trying to urge caution...
