he has tank mates and new additions have been made since him (small foxface)...as for the clear box with holes i have a similar thing set up using a critter carrier with a rock so it stays put. hes safe for now but im afraid what will happen when i let him out.hes not the smartest fish..the wrasse was attacking it in the corner and it made no attempt to get away ;/

well after some digging i figured out why the wrasse was picking on the goby... i believe it is because they have similar markings. so for anyone wanting to keep both in the same tank i advise against it!!

ouch. try to place fish in order of dominance. wrasse can be agressive. gobies tend to be more peaceful.

in your situation it was a bit late for this. the best thing yoou could do is to try to get the agressive fish out and allow the more peacful species to adjust and claim territory. then re introduce the agressor to the community tank. this is no gurantee

moving rock work can also help.

Wrasses and gobies know very well they are not from the same family. I first would have advised the same in doing a major redo of rock formation, then everyone would have been on the same turf again looking for a home. If you did not move or "upset" the wrasses home rock then nothing would have changed. Other option would be to catch and take wrasse out and add them both back at the same time....Great advice NU-2REEF dominance is important, and dociles should get to find there places first. This combination of fish can be done in the proper manner with no issues....and keep in mind all fish are as individual as ourselves, 2 of the same group, same species, same size, same color, could have completely different personalities!

Put a fish trap in there and starve them for a couple days then put food in the trap. You would be surprised what and where a fish will swim when they are hungry.

Just get one of them out of there. The wrasse will probably bully the rainfordi to the point it will be stressed all the time, never eat and wind up dying.
