I will be moving with in the next week or so and I need advice. In my tank I have 3 fish, 2 black/white clown fight and 1 yellow clown goby. As for coral i have 3; stylo, recordia, and some leather that has yet to really show off what it is. Thanks for the info in advanced.

How big is this tank? Will you have the ability to make new saltwater at the new place?

Haven't had to yet, but I've seen 2 main school of thought.
Sell what you can, give away and start over at the new place.
A good chance to up in size and upgrade things.

The second, depending on how far, temps etc. is to transfer things to bins, buckets, etc. people e en get battery powered pumps, etc. if it's small enough, and not too far, take about half the water out and carry with 2 people etc.
    Something of the sort

Well the tank is a 75 gal tank with sump. I'm moving with in the state and no more than an hour away. . . I'm looking for some real experience here to make it easier and as well as success with their moves.

I've done alot of transfers. First take the corals and fish and rock out. put them in a 50g stock tank at the new location with heaters and powerheads.

Move the tank over, replace the sandbed, fill it with saltwater heat it, and put everything back together.

Should have almost no mini cycle.

agreed with ingtar, you just have to make an extra trip to put the new inhabitants in the new house/apt. about a day before the final haul and drain the tank down leaving enough water in there to keep the sand wet, mabey a 8th inch of water or dig a small hole in teh sand in one of the corners and drain it down till you gat sand. make new water and fill her back up.

The previous two posts pretty much nailed it. All I have to say is give your self plenty of time and don't rush it. Good thing to have in the new place is a batch of salt water ready. as for the move it self you can use plastic totes from Walmart. I know a lot of people put eggcrate on the bottom of them and tie the LR with coral on it using cable ties. That way nothing gets banged up badly in the move itself.
I'd take as many pics as possible of your scape so you can easily replicate it again in the new location.
Battery operated air pumps also could be handy to keep things flowing and aerated during transit.
+1 on changing the sand bed. Chances are you might get a massive cycle if you keep it and stir it in the move.
With all that said and done....you are in the perfect position to upgrade:) so maybe it's time to look on CL for that 90gal or bigger you always wanted(you can tell I already have a speech prepared for my wife when we move next time lol).
Any way good luck with the move
